Assessment of sclerostin levels in the gingival crevicular fluid of patients with periodontitis: A clinico-biochemical crosssectional study

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background. Sclerostin, a glycoprotein, plays key role in regulating bone mass. In this study, sclerostin levels the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) were assessed patients with Stage III Grade C generalized periodontitis (SIII-GC) and B (SIII-GB). Methods. This cross-sectional study included 30 participants divided equally into three groups: group I (gingival health), II (SIII-GC), Clinical periodontal parameters like plaque index (PI), bleeding (GBI), probing pocket depth (PD), clinical attachment level (CAL) recorded. A sandwich ELISA was used to determine GCF samples. One-way ANOVA post hoc Tukey tests analyze levels. The association between using Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r). Results. Patients groups had much higher their than (P≤0.05). contrast, no significant difference observed two diseased conditions (P=0.841). Concerning parameters, statistically groups. There positive expression of Conclusion. Increased indicated that it could be considered reliable biomarker disease activity.

Effects of Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy on Gingival Crevicular Fluid Levels of Interleukin-17 and Interleukin-23 in Patients with Periodontitis: A Clinical Trial

Background and Aim: Considering the critical role of inflammatory responses in periodontal disease, knowledge about the immune system and cytokines seems nec-essary. The aim of this study was to evaluate the level of IL-23 and IL-17 in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of patients with chronic and aggressive periodontitis, before and after non-surgical periodontal therapy. Materials and Methods:...

Arginine and glutamate levels in the gingival crevicular fluid from patients with chronic periodontitis.

The objectives of this study were to determine arginine and glutamate levels in the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of adult chronic periodontitis patients versus periodontally healthy controls, and to compare two kinds of microdialysis probes: normal and U-shaped probes. The analysis of GCF components was developed to improve the diagnosis of periodontal disease (PD). Proteolysis in the period...

Comparing Gingival Crevicular Fluid Visfatin Levels Between Patients with Endometrial Cancer and Chronic Periodontitis and Healthy Controls

Background and purpose: The association between periodontal diseases and endometrial cancer (EC) has been assessed in some studies but the probable role of inflammatory factors such as visfatin is unknown. This study aimed at evaluating the levels of visfatin in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) in patients with EC and chronic periodontitis (CP) to address this gap. Materials and methods: In a ...

Gingival Crevicular Fluid Immunoglobulins in Smokers with Chronic Periodontitis

Tobacco smoking is regarded as one of the most significant risk factors in the development and progression of periodontal disease. Studies have shown an altered host antibody response to antigenic challenge in smokers with periodontitis. The study was undertaken to estimate the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) immunoglobulin G,A,M (IgA, IgG and IgM) levels in smokers and non smoker with periodon...
